COPA Discover Aviation is an aviation program that is free to anyone ages 8 to 19. It brings together people who are interested in the science of flight with licensed pilots where the pilots will provide you with an aviation informative introduction and then take you up for a flight.

For Parents

The COPA Discover Aviation program provides a - Free of Charge - motivational aviation experience introducing young people to the science of flight. Anyone ages 8 to 19 is welcome to join us at the Olds-Didsbury aerodrome for a free flight. Some additional information can be found on the COPA Discover Aviation website.

Discover Aviation - A Free Flight Experience!

For Ages 8 to 19.

Main Flight day is June 6 with an alternative day due to bad weather of June 13.

Location: Olds-Didsbury Airport

Flights begin at 09:00 and run until 13:30 - see registration page for details.

Registration closes at 18:00 on Friday June 5 so the schedule can be prepared for the pilots.

To help save some time, prior to your arrival for your flight, please complete the Flight Waiver and Registration form and bring it with you. It is required for all participants in the Discover Aviation program. You MUST have BOTH pages filled in for every participant.

This REGISTRATION PAGE, or the button below, will take you to an external page where some information will be collected to reserve a seat for your Discover Aviation Flight! Please arrive at the aerodrome 30 minutes before your reserved flight with your paperwork complete.

The Olds-Didsbury aerodrome is registered and located at Latitude N51° 42' 39" Longitude W114° 06' 22" and its ICAO aerodrome identification is CEA3. It is located between the town of Olds and the town of Didsbury.

Pilots wanting to fly COPA Discover Aviation flights with the Olds-Didsbury Flying Association COPA Flight 142, please forward the following pilot and aircraft information to Ed Shaw.

PILOT AND AIRCRAFT INFORMATION NEEDED

  1. Vulnerable Sector Check - form for RCMP. Must not be expired at the time of the Discover Aviation flight.
  2. Pilot's License
  3. Pilot's Medical
  4. Aircraft Insurance
  5. Current Annual From Log Book
  6. Copy from log book of 5 Take-Offs and Landings in previous 6 months
  7. Pilot's/COPA membership number

Note that all volunteer pilots must meet the requirements of the CARs prior to flying passengers.
